Storytime, Hiking Sessions a Chance to Connect Kids to Nature

The sessions will be held two Saturdays this fall at the Farmington Hills Nature Center in Heritage Park.

For two Saturdays his falland again in January, the Farmington Hills Nature Center is offering a nature-themed story time and short hike that brings the story to life.

Called “Boots ‘N’ Books,” the sessions are held from 11 a.m.-noon on Saturdays, Oct. 24 and Nov. 14, and again on Jan. 16.The program is geared for children ages 1½ to 5, who must be accompanied by an adult.

Stories will be shared by a naturalist, who will then lead families on a hike, offering an opportunity for families to bond with children and form a lasting connection with nature. Participants are reminded to dress of the weather and wear boots.

The cost is $3 per person and $9 for a family of four. Boots ‘N’ Books is a drop-in class. There’s no need to pre-register: just pay at the Nature Center on the day of the program.
