2012 Olympics: NBC Olympics TV Schedule for Thursday

Grand Blanc's Geena Gall and Flint's Claressa Shields both competing today in London.

Grand Blanc's Geena Gall will run in the 800 meter semifinal run today around 2:30 p.m. EST in London and the race will likely air tonight on NBC. Also Flint's Claressa Shields will fight for a gold medal in women's boxing today. The Northwestern graduate will face Russian fighter Nadezda Torlopova at 12:15 p.m. Her bout will air on CNBC between 5 and 8 p.m.

"I've got a game plan for her," Shields told MLive via Skype. "She's 5-7 and I'm not saying a shorter fighter can't beat a taller fighter -- but you have to be really good, and to me she's not really good. ...Β I refuse to lose."

NBC 10:00a - 10:45a Synchronized Swimming

The Russians have won each of the last three Olympic gold medals in Synchronized Swimming. Team USA won gold in the inaugural event in 1996, but has one bronze since then.

Four more sprint finals in Canoe/Kayak: the men’s Canoe Double 1000m and Kayak Four 1000m, and the women’s Kayak Single 500m and Kayak Double 500m.

11:30a - 12:15p Rhythmic Gymnastics

Qualifying in Rhythmic Gymnastics.

12:15p - 1:00p Track & Field

More qualifying runs in Track & Field, including the men’s 4x400 relay – a race Team USA has dominated. Oscar Pistorius is expected to run on his two carbon-fiber prostheses for the South African team.

1:00p - 1:15p Swimming

The women's marathon in Swimming.

1:15p - 1:40p Rhythmic Gymnastics

More qualifying in Rhythmic Gymnastics.

1:40p - 3:00p Women's Water Polo

The Australians will be going for their second straight bronze medal and third overall in women’s Water Polo after falling 11-9 to Team USA in extra time. Hungary’s men have won three straight golds in the sport, but the women have yet to medal.

3:00p - 4:00p Women's Water Polo

Led by 19-year-old Maggie Steffens (tournament-high 16 goals) , Team USA will try once more to win its first women’s Water Polo gold medal after losing by one goal to Australia in Beijing. Spain’s first Olympic appearance in the sport on the women’s side, will result in no worse than a silver.

4:00p - 5:00p Men's Beach Volleyball

Emanuel/Alison of Brazil versus Brink/Reckermann of Germany.

Track & Field finals include the men's 200m, plus semifinals and finals in women's platform Diving, a women's Volleyball semifinal between the United States and South Korea, and quarterfinal action in men's BMX Cycling.
