• Township to vote on chicken, duck ordinance on Jan. 6 (tctimes.com) — Fenton Township residents may soon be allowed up to five backyard chickens or ducks if trustees approve a revised zoning ordinance at their Jan. 6, 2026 meeting. The proposal outlines permit requirements, coop placement and sanitation rules, and bans roosters, outdoor slaughtering and egg sales so the township can retain local control under Michigan’s Right to Farm Act.
