Fenton Student Places in Kettering Math Competition

Matthew Bauerle of Fenton took third place in the 11th annual Kettering University Math Olympiad in December.

Β The Math Olympiad is a competition designed to identify and encourage students with interests and abilities in mathematics. The competition is for students in 9th-12th grades and consists of six challenging problems and has a time limit of four hours. The problems range from β€˜mind-benders’ that require little mathematical skills to problems that require the knowledge of geometry, trigonometry and beginning calculus. No calculators are allowed during competition.
