The reported a counterfeit bill being accepted at a Fenton business this week.
"It is a very good quality bill. The easiest way to detect the counterfeit is to look on the right side of the face of the bill (right of the picture of Benjamin Franklin) there is a watermark," Police Chief Rick Aro said in an e-mail.
He said the watermark should be a picture of the president appearing on the bill, on the counterfeit bills the picture is Abraham Lincoln. The bill was actually a $5 made into a $100. The other security measures will be wrong also, he said.
