If it wouldn't have been mid-winter break for and schools, it most definitely would have been a snow day.
Fenton received around eight inches of snow, which fell for about 15 hours starting around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
Area totals ranged from 7.2 inches northwest of Whitmore Lake and nine inches in White Lake to 11.1 inches in Burton near Flint, according storm totals provided by the National Weather Service.

Fenton Police Lt. Jason Slater said there were seven accidents between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the city.
Slater said they were all minor accidents, with a few cars sliding into the ditch.

He added that things have been quiet Monday, saying traffic has been reduced because of the holiday.
Most government offices, including Fenton City Hall, are closed for the Presidents Day holiday.
Genesee County dispatchers reported several accidents around the county Monday morning and officials shut down the West I-69 to Bristol Road ramp after an accident, but no incidents have been reported in Fenton Township.
Monday's forecast is for scattered flurries with a high near 25, according to the NWS.
The snow began in Fenton about 2:30 p.m. Sunday, quickly clogging roads and blanketing lawns following a week of temperatures that broke 50 degrees at times.
