Fenton Woman Still Missing Two Years Later
Randa Jawhari disappeared Feb. 11, 2009 and police are still seeking the public's help to find her.

Two years after a Fenton resident went missing police have released a vide0 in hopes of obtaining new clues.
Randa Jawhari, 42, was reported missing by her family two years ago today. There were no signs of foul play or any other evidence leading to her whereabouts. Family members said she suffered from mental illness and was very sick at the time of her disappearance.
 Jawhari is 5'1" tall and weighs 100 pounds. She has brown hair and was last seen wearing a blue bathrobe. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fenton Police at (810) 629-5311.

Below is a timeline of the disappearance and search. Also, attached to the story is surveillance video from the apartment complex parking lot from the day she disappeared. All vehicles were accounted for, except for the one shown in the video, which police have been unable to identify or even determine what type of vehicle it is.

 Feb. 11, 12, 13, 14 2009- Police search roadways, fields and forests in a four mile radius of the apartment, but come up empty. Jawhari's family and volunteers conduct a foot search.
Feb. 15, 2009 - "It became clear we had a problem and a legitimate missing persons case," said Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro. "We realized then it wasn't that she went somewhere and didn't tell her family."
 March 2009 – Jawhari’s family places billboard along U.S. 23 with her picture and a notice of $6,000 reward for information leading to her safe return.
March 2009 - Police continue to extend search, to Jawhari's contacts in Flint, and also to unidentified bodies from other jurisdictions.
April 2009 - Police receive surveillance video from parking lot of Jawhari's apartment. All but one car is identified. Police try to find ways to improve the poor quality of the video.
May 2009 - present - Police receive tips, but "nothing really helpful," Aro said.
Feb. 11, 2010 - The one year anniversary of Jawhari's disappearance. Police still have no solid leads.
Feb. 11, 2011 - The two-year mark of the disappearance. After failed attempts to improve the parking surveillance video, it is released to the public.
"We are not positive the car involved, but we would like to know either way," Aro said. "It's just as important to us if it was somebody's car that was there for a legitimate reason, so we can move on."
Police are continuing to investigate the case.
