Get Out: Five Things to Do This Weekend

Here's your chance to have some fun.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Fenton Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.

When/where: 4:30-8 p.m. Friday at participating Fenton businesses. Visitor's booth will be near , 301 S. LeRoy St.

Why go: will participate in what organizers hope will become an annual event. Visitors will be able to come to a booth in downtown Fenton and receive an artist passport, which will include instructions and artist and merchant information. People then can visit participating businesses to observe the art, meet the artists and explore what each store has to offer. Visitors also will be able to win and Fenton Patch prizes.

When/where: Noon-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday and noon-8 p.m. Sunday, Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 2245 E. Baldwin Rd., Grand Blanc.

Why go: Fabulous Greek food, beer and wine, dancing, pastries and fun.

Price: $1 admission in advance, $2 at the door. Children 12 and younger are admitted free.

When/where: 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, , 301 S. LeRoy St.

Why go: Come check out the folk sounds of Mustard's Retreat.

Price: Free

Where/when: Howell High School Complex, Thursday at 2 p.m. to Sunday at 8 p.m.

Why go: All weekend long, attendees can enjoy carnival rides, artist booths, family-centric entertainment such as jugglers and magicians. And of course, the main event is watching more than 50 hot air balloons take flight in the annual competition.

Pricing: $12 daily pass, $20 for a weekend pass

5. Tim McGraw

When/where: 7 p.m. Friday, DTE Energy Music Theatre, 7774 Sashabaw Rd., Clarkston.

Why go: DTE Energy Music Theatre is open for the summer. Go enjoy some live music.

Price: $75 pavilion and $39 lawn.
