Police Blotter: Investigation for Armed Robbery Continues

Police are continuing to investigate an armed robbery that occurred on Jan. 14 at a Fenton home.
Around 2:30 a.m. four armed intruders forced their way into the residence on the 1000 block of Lee Street and robbed the resident and a friend at gunpoint, Chief Rick Aro said.
Aro said police have received a few calls about the incident, but nothing of significance.

“We’ve had a few tips, but no solid leads,” Aro said.
Aro said the four male intruders, three of whom were said to have worn ski masks, allegedly stole a large amount of cash, a video camera and other personal property items.

Aro said the intruders were described as a 6-foot tall white male with light colored hair, a 5'10 white male weighing more than 300 pounds, a 5' 7 white male weighing around 150 pounds and a black male. It is also believed the suspects were in their early to mid-30’s, Aro said.
Police said they believe the intruders left the residents in two dark colored vehicles, possibly a Grand Prix and a full sized Chevrolet.
Aro said he couldn’t confirm any motive for the crime, but did say, “I wouldn’t rule out drugs.”

Police arrest man after hair salon break-ins
Police arrested a 42-year-old Davison man Sunday for allegedly breaking into two Fenton hair salons, Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro.
At 11:25 p.m. on Jan. 15 police responded to an alarm at on the 1400 block of Torrey Road and found broken glass near entry, Aro said.
Police searched the building and found the intruder had opened the cash register and several cabinets, Aro said
He added that the salon owner showed up on scene and reported two computes were missing and a small amount of money.
Police had no suspects at that time, but an officer on patrol noticed broken glass at on the 15000 block of Silver Parkway around 5 a.m. on Jan. 16, Aro said.
Aro said the salon had been ransacked and a small amount of money had been taken from the cash register.
Fenton Police then put out a notice to all other police agencies about the hair salon break-ins.
Around 6:15 a.m., Aro said the department received a call from the Novi Police that a suspect had tried to enter a salon, but failed. Aro said a witness gave a description of the vehicle and Novi Police were able to find the suspect during a traffic stop.
The suspect was found to have property taken from the Fenton salons and a Fenton officer picked up the suspect and transported him to the Fenton Police Department, where he was held, Aro said.
The man will be arraigned on charges of possession of stolen property, Aro said.
Woman receives fake parking ticket
On Jan. 14 a woman visited the Fenton police department with a small envelope she found on her windshield in the parking lot at on Silver Parkway containing a fake city of Fenton parking citation, Aro said.
The citation indicated the $75 fine could be paid in person or by mail. The address on the citation was not a valid address, Aro said.
“The best we can tell it was a prank,” Aro said.
He said valid city of Fenton parking tickets are printed on official city paper with traffic citation court information for the on Silver Parkway information printed on it.
