Power Outage Strikes in Fenton

More than 10,000 customers were without power in Genesee County Thursday night.

Many Fenton residents and businesses were without power Thursday.

Consumers Energy Spokeswoman Mary Gust said the outage has to do with a high voltage line. A section of line fell to the ground, causing power failures at three sub stations.

About 10,220 Consumers Energy customers were without power in Genesee County, which included many Fenton and Linden residents.

The power went out around 5:45 p.m. and most residents regained power by 10 p.m.

The outage caused some businesses, like the French Laundry, to temporarily close. There were also many traffic lights out along Owen Road.
