Pre-Trial Hearing Set for Fenton Township Shooting Case

The case will continue on July 2 with a pre-trial hearing.
David Eddie Collins, 23, of Flint, is charged with armed robbery, home invasion and felony firearms after police say he was involved in a shooting at a on April 14.
There will be a pre-trial hearing at 1:30 p.m. July 2 in front of Judge Joseph Farah. The court date was originally scheduled for June 16, but was delayed.

Judge Mark McCabe bound the case to 7th Circuit Court on May 16 when Robert Johnson testified and shot him in the hip.
Johnson said he and Collins, 23, of Flint, that day on the 13000 block of Linden Road in the preliminary exam.

βI was trying to kill him because he was in my house trying to kill me,β Johnson told the court. βIt was my life or his life.β
Collins is being held at the Genesee County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
