State Rep. Mike Mueller, of Linden, issued the following statement after Gov. Whitmer delivered her Stay Home, Stay Safe executive order today:

β€œIn this time of uncertainly, we must work together and stand united in our goal to eliminate the spread of this virus and continue to remain calm. I urge the people of our community not to spread fear by spreading false information. For the most accurate and timely information, visit www.Michigan.gov/Coronavirus or dial 1-888-535-6136.

β€œFurther, I encourage residents to heed the instructions of our governor. Though I do not always agree with her methods, this is no time for playing politics, and it is my sincere hope that her executive orders will achieve the desired goal of flattening the curve.

β€œFinally, I implore my neighbors throughout our communities to act as just that – neighbors. Be respectful of others when venturing to the store for food and other necessary supplies, and do not take more than you need. Continue to practice good hygiene by washing your hands frequently and cleaning high traffic surfaces.

β€œWe all have two choices during this process – we can be part of the problem, or we can be part of the solution. Let’s all partner together to be the solution.”
