Severe Weather Strikes Fenton

The National Weather Service has issued a severe Thunderstorm watch for Genesee and Livingston counties, which will be in effect until 2 p.m.

There could be heavy downpours, strong winds and cloud to ground lightning.

Some residents at Silver Lake Hills Apartments have reported a lighting strike.

Winds could be greater than 40 mph.

The National Weather Service suggests the wind could cause small objects to blow around. Officials also advise people to stay away from high objects, like trees, outdoors and to seek shelter in a sturdy area until storms pass.
