Smokin' Charlie retires from Flint Farmers' Market stall, but plans return with food truck (mlive.com) — A longtime favorite at the Flint Farmers’ Market, “Smokin’ Charlie” Weston has closed his indoor barbecue stall as he recovers from a kidney transplant, ending a 20-year era at the market. The retired Flint police officer and award-winning pitmaster hopes to return this summer with a food truck in the outdoor pavilion and possibly teach small barbecue workshops, keeping his ties to customers and the market community alive.
