Flint Mexican restaurant to close after nearly a decade in business (mlive.com) — A longtime Mexican restaurant on Flint’s east side, Cocina Mio on Davison Road, is closing before the new year after nine years in business. Owner Victoria Coronado is inviting customers to stop in over the coming days to say goodbye and thanks the Flint community for turning her family-run spot into a true neighborhood staple.
   

2. Flint City Bucks bid to host U.S. Open Cup match at Grand Blanc's Don Batchelor Field (mlive.com) — Flint City Bucks are bidding to host a 2026 U.S. Open Cup first-round match at Grand Blanc High School’s Don Batchelor Field, giving local fans a chance to see a pro opponent nearby. If approved, the March game would be included in season-ticket packages and could bring economic benefits and national attention to Flint and Genesee County.
   

3. UM-Flint students worry over Ann Arbor scandal's impact (abc12.com) — University of Michigan-Flint students say the arrest and firing of head football coach Sherrone Moore in Ann Arbor is hurting the image of their own campus in Flint. Several students describe feeling shocked, worried about stigma, and frustrated that another football scandal reflects on them despite happening miles away.
   

4. Flint woman convicted after attempting to steal $1,000 in clothes from Burton Meijer (mlive.com) — A Flint woman has been convicted of first-degree retail fraud for attempting to steal more than $1,000 in clothing from the Meijer store in nearby Burton. Genesee County prosecutors say store security and video footage tied her to the incident, and her status as a four-time habitual offender means she now faces a potential sentence of five years to life in prison.
