'Never seen anything like it': 100 inmates unite in prayer at Mich. jail (corrections1.com) — A powerful Christmas Eve moment inside the Genesee County Jail in Flint saw about 100 inmates spontaneously join hands and recite the Lord’s Prayer, a surveillance video that has since gone viral. Sheriff Chris Swanson says the scene reflects broader cultural changes driven by education, trades training, and community programs aimed at helping inmates rebuild their lives and reduce repeat incarceration.
3. Pioneering Clayton Township police chief to retire on 62nd birthday in 2026 (mlive.com) — Clayton Township’s pioneering police chief Charlotte Brown, who started her career inspired by women at the Flint Police Department, will retire on her 62nd birthday, March 8, after 35 years in law enforcement.
