MI Mom Arrested After Son, 17, Found Dead Inside Home: Police

Police are calling the incident 'suspicious' and said an autopsy will be conducted soon.

HOLLAND, MI β€” A mom was arrested after her 17-year-old son was found dead inside a west Michigan home Friday morning, according to police.

Officers were called at 4:15 a.m. Friday to the Bay Pointe Apartment Complex on 16th Street in Holland for a domestic incident, according to police.

When officers arrived at the apartment, a woman immediately confronted them while holding a knife, according to police.

Officers repeatedly told the 39-year-old woman to drop the knife, but she refused, and officers eventually taser her, according to police.

Once officers entered the apartment, they found the body of her 17-year-old son, according to police.

Police are calling the incident "suspicious" and said an autopsy will be conducted soon.

Police have not released the name of either the woman or the 17-year-old boy.

The mother and son did live inside the apartment together, according to police.

No other details were immediately shared by police at this time.
