MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, MI β€” A 7-year-old girl was kidnapped from her father's home in Muskegon Heights by her non-custodial mother and three males, and the father said they shot his dog during the abduction.

Elena Johnson was taken from her father’s home Monday by her mother with the help of three other males, police said. Authorities believe she could be in endanger of physical harm.

The mother, identified by police as Seaniece Johnson, has contacts in Missouri and Virginia. She and the three males who helped her abduct Elena are considered armed and dangerous, police said.

Anyone with knowledge of their whereabouts should dial 9-1-1 or call the Muskegon Heights Police Department.

Maurice Sain, the police chief, told WZZM-TV he believes they may be driving a tan SUV and could be headed to the St. Louis area.

"She showed up to my house yesterday with three armed men and they took my daughter and shot my dog, killed my dog," Elena's father told the TV station.

Muskegon Heights is about 30 miles northwest of Grand Rapids.
