11 Finalists to Interview for GP Schools Last Administrative Vacancy

As of from in a matter of days, the district prepares to interview 11 candidates vying to lead the human resources department.
Harwood told Grosse Pointe Public School board members Monday that 57 people applied for the assistant superintendent of human resources job posting, which closed earlier this month. This is Harwood's current job with the district.
The candidate list was whittled down to 11 finalists, who will be interviewed in early January after the district is back in session following the winter break. They will be interviewed at the central district offices Jan. 9 and 12, Harwood said.

A variety of new hires have joined the district and several internal promotions have been made since last summer when several administrative openings arose. The , the and the led to the many changes in the district.
While most of those positions have been filled, at least one of them has yet to begin with the district: the new principal, which is Cathryn Armstrong.

Armstrong will begin with the district in late January when current Parcells principal, Mark Mulholland, is set to retire. Armstrong is an assistant principal at Harrison High School in Farmington School District.
Harwood said Armstrong applied for both positions with the district and she's already made an appearance at Parcells during parents night this fall.
Filling in the final administrative vacancy within the district is likely to happen before the end of January, Harwood told the board Monday.
