Grosse Pointe Farms Man Charged After Sexually Assaulting 15-Year-Old Girl: Prosecutor
Investigators said the man is a friend of the girl's family.
GROSSE POINTE FARMS, MI — A Grosse Pointe Farms man is facing charges after sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.
Dwayne Eugene Howell, 51, was charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a person who is 13-15 years old, accosting a minor for immoral purposes and refusing to provide a sample for DNA identification profiling.
He was placed in jail and given a $200,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for Oct. 29.

He faces up to life in prison for each count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, up to 15 years for each count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, up to four years for accosting a minor for immoral purposes and up to a year for refusing to provide a sample for DNA identification profiling.
Prosecutors said the sexual assault happened on May 28 at Howell's home in the 470 block of Belanger Street in Grosse Pointe Farms. They said he picked the girl up from her Detroit school and drove her back to his home.

Investigators said Howell is a friend of the girl's family.
Grosse Pointe Farms Police arrested Howell on Monday.
