Public Safety Department issues Nixle alert in response to increased copper thefts.
Grosse Pointe Woods Public Safety officials are asking residents keep their collective eye out for thieves roaming the area stealing copper from vacant houses and buildings.
An increase in reported crimes prompted the city to issue a Nixle alert to residents Saturday afternoon.
Officials ask residents to report any suspicious activity to the Grosse Pointe Woods Public Safety Department at (313) 343-2400.
