Police Blotter: Vandalism and Thefts
Police in the Pointes are investigating a variety of reports.

Grosse Pointe Woods police are investigating the vandalism and ransacking of a home in the 2000 block of Brys Drive after the resident reported it April 7. The man returned home to find someone had broken in through a window and ransacked the home, dumping the contents of drawers, smashing shot glasses on the floor and smearing deodorant on the walls and doors throughout the house. The man identified a possible suspect to police, according to a report.
Fire doused by resident
Grosse Pointe Park firefighters are investigating a fire in the 1200 block of Lakepointe doused by the resident. A green trash bin was found burning April 10 about 6 p.m. and the homeowner used a garden hose to put out the fire, according to a report.

Drug paraphernalia
A teacher reported a student to police for making drug paraphernalia in shop class. The teacher filed the report April 6 but the creation of the wooden pipe was March 31. According to the police report, the pipe was confiscated by school officials and the 13-year-old boy was suspended from school.

Thefts
A 13-year-old Woods resident reported having his cell phone stolen from an unlocked locker at Grosse Pointe South High School April 7. The boy told officers he was in the pool area and left his phone in the locker room, according to reports.
In an unrelated case, a Farms woman reported the theft of her autistic son's iPad from her home between April 4 to 6. She provided police with information about a possible suspect, according to a report.Β
In another unrelated case, employees of Ace Hardware in the Village reported that a rental carpet cleaner has not been returned well past the due date. Employees tried to contact the renter but the phone number has a message explaining it's disconnected. Β
