Police believe two cars were involved in a high-speed shootout on westbound I-94 near Chalmers

Interstate 94 turned treacherous late Wednesday night when police believe a shootout may have occurred between two vehicles traveling the busy expressway.

The altercation left one man dead and another wounded while a third passenger was uninjured, according to a report in the Detroit News.

The shooting occurred on westbound 94 near Chalmers, according to the Michigan State Police.

Reports came into the department of multiple gunshots coming from an unidentified second vehicle traveling along 94.

The victim’s vehicle, a four-door Chevy, crashed into a fence near Harper in Detroit. The second vehicle continued westbound on the freeway.
