There are several important events this week in Grosse Pointe. Here are a few highlights:
1. A special meeting begins at 7 p.m. Monday in the council chambers to address development in . The special meeting is the result of . Anyone is encouraged to attend the meeting, which includes several guest speakers. Officials are hoping to gain ideas and insight about what residents, developers, building owners and business owners wish to see in the Village.
2. The city council will meet beginnning at 7:30 p.m. Monday. The council intends to discuss the following, according to the agenda:

- the Community Development Block Grant funds and where the money will be spent
- a budget transfer for a fence for the dog park inside
- a bid related to healthcare consulting

3. The city council will meet beginning at 7 p.m. Monday. The council will discuss the following items, according to the agenda:
- two grants being offered through the Economic Vitality Incentive Program, including the and

4. The Board will begin meeting at 6:15 p.m. Monday. - board budget development parameters
Information will also be presented to the board during the meeting for items members will vote upon during the March meeting, which include:
- changes to the technology policies for students and staff
- changes to cell phone/electronic device usage policies for students and staff
- bids for web hosting and cell phone service
The board will also discuss the budget and relevant updates and the the state established as a better measure of the college-readiness of students.
5. The presidential primary is Tuesday but don't forget there is a local issue on the ballot. The . The extra millage will help restore the library's funding, which has dwindled due to the repeatedly dropping property values in the last several years ago. The committee campaigning for the libraries has emphasized the money will help the library system continue operations without making significant service cuts. .
