2 Suspects Arrested in Connection to Counterfeit Money Found in Brighton

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with counterfeit money found in Brighton last month.

According to a release from the Brighton Police Department, investigators from the Brighton PD, LAWNET and the Howell Police Department have arrested two subjects who police say had been printing the fake bills in their Howell apartment.

In November, police reported that two businesses in Brighton had discovered fake $20 bills had been used for purchases and that the bills in question were high quality photocopies on heavy paper that made the bills feel quite real. 

Police say both suspects have admitted to making and distributing the counterfeit bills. 

Police say the case, including the seized printing materials and counterfeit bills, have been turned over to the U. S. Secret Service who will be pursuing federal charges against the couple.
