Artwork from Hartland Alumni Displayed in Capitol Buulding

Allyse Rammage, a 2009 Hartland High School graduate, will have a piece of artwork displayed in the state capital's House of Representative's building for one year.

Here atΒ Patch, we love toΒ regularly spotlight young people in the Hartland community who are successful, talented and just plain awesome.Β

But we need your help. We know those kids are out there doing great things for and in the community, so let us know about themΒ so we can help spread the word.Β

Today we featureΒ Allyse Rammage who recently had a piece of artwork selected to be displayed in theΒ state capital’s House of Representative’s Anderson House Office Building for the period of Β oneΒ year.Β

  • Introduction:Β Allyse Rammage, a 2009Β Hartland High SchoolΒ alumni, was recently selected to represent her college Central Michigan University’s Fine Arts Program in our State Capital β€œArt in the House Program.” This is the ninthΒ annual year for Art in The House; the program is a partnership with the Presidents Council, State University of Michigan and the Michigan House of Representatives to promote art in everyday life.Β
  • Achievement:Β Her mixed media piece was selected and purchased by the college to represent their program in the state capital’s House of Representative’s Anderson House Office Building for the period of Β oneΒ year.Β A ceremony took place inΒ OctoberΒ in honor of the 15 students selected by their individual colleges for this honor.
  • Keys to awesomeness:Β Β Allyse’s art piece was recently shown in the college’s annual art exhibition, and received an honorable mention in that show. Also, at the Fowlerville Fair, Allyse received a Best in Show for one of her photographs and several other ribbons for her other art pieces displayed.Β  She will be graduating in December with her Fine Art’s degree from Central.Β
Do you know a local young person who deserves applause because he or she shovels the elderly neighbors' driveway? Or perhaps athletic achievements are worth sharing. Everyone deserves attention, and we want to tell these stories.Β Email nominations to local editor Tatum Ryan at tatum.ryan@patch.com,Β provide the information shown above and include a photo with names and ages.
