• Barrett nominates students to U.S. service academies (thelivingstonpost.com) — Several Howell students, including Robyn Petty, have earned coveted nominations from U.S. Rep. Tom Barrett to attend elite U.S. service academies. They’re among 16 mid‑Michigan seniors recognized for strong character and commitment to service, with final admission decisions expected this spring. Local families can also learn how future Howell students can pursue the same path.
• Northville City Council unanimously approves 12-month data center moratorium (wxyz.com) — Residents in nearby Howell Township have already seen a six‑month pause on new data centers, and now Northville has gone further with a 12‑month moratorium to study zoning impacts. The move reflects growing concern across Michigan communities, as people pack meetings and even protest at the Capitol, urging more transparency and caution around large data‑center projects.
