  1. Kalamazoo Lyceum is hosting its second event of the year this coming Saturday centered around "what is Kalamazoo's Culture?". This event is following up on a successful launch back in January, where almost 70 people attended. The panel hosts community conversations around multiple topics to connect. You can purchase your tickets here, which will include admission, food, drinks, and conversations. The event will be held at 315 West Michigan Avenue from 2 to 4 p.m. (WKZO)
  2. The annual Kalamazoo 5K Walk to End Homelessness was canceled this past weekend due to inclement weather, Housing Resources Inc. is still raising funds to meet their goal of $110,000 raised. As of Saturday, the organization still needed about $15,000 to meet their goal and hoped the walk would have got them to the goal or within reach. HRI served Kalamazoo well, helping 24,000 solve their housing crisis, whether homeless or nearing homelessness. Donations can still be made to HRI as they continue to work for those in need. The final day for donations is on Mar. 31. (WWMT-TV)
  3. Michael Mosley and Zachary Solis both pled no contest to involuntary manslaughter charges on Thursday to a case in April 2020 when that led to the death of a 16-year-old boy. The two former youth home employees reportedly put their full weight on Cornelius Fredricks, restraining him for 12 minutes, and Fredricks was pronounced dead 30 hours later at a nearby hospital. Since this incident, former nurse at Lakeside Heather McLogan was sentenced to 18 months probation for third-degree child abuse. Mosley and Solis will receive their sentencing on Dec. 19, 2023.
