Philanthropist, former Kalamazoo College president Timothy Light dies at 84 (wwmt.com) — Kalamazoo is mourning Dr. Timothy Light, a former acting president of Kalamazoo College and key supporter of Western Michigan University and the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, who has died at 84. Raised in Kalamazoo and deeply involved in local education and philanthropy, Light helped build Asian studies programs and funded the Joy Light Gallery and the Timothy Light Center for Chinese Studies.
