On the weekend of Feb. 19, Immanuel Lutheran Church, dedicated two compost bins to be used in their community garden, The Gathering Patch.
These compost bins were made by Chad Bendig, a senior at L'Anse Creuse North, as part of his requirements for his Eagle Scout award. The two bins can be used with removal boards to make it easier to fill and empty. The compost will be used in the garden, which provides food for those in need.
“Our hope is that the school children will get involved with the composting materials from their snacks and lunches (salads, apples, etc.) to make it healthy compost," said Karen Reincke, minister to children K-6 and their families, in a prepared statement. "We are always looking for ways to be of service to our community.”
