A Macomb Township couple joined some 300 supporters June 9 to take part in the Run2Read 5K/10K at Stony Creek Metropark.
The race, sponsored by Macomb Literacy Partners and Oakland Literacy Council, benefits their efforts in promoting literacy throughout Macomb and Oakland counties.
Gillian Kobus said she was excited to participate in the 5K to support literacy, and she liked that it was closer to her Macomb Township home. Her husband, Todd Kobus, competed in the 10K. Although Todd had competed in other 10K races, Run2Read was Gillian's first race ever.
