Immanuel Lutheran Students Use Easter Eggs to Help Grieving Families
Macomb Township seventh-graders try to spread happiness with Easter egg displays.
Seventh-graders at Immanuel Lutheran School used Easter eggs to try to spread some happiness.
The students, along with adult teachers and volunteers from the school, use the eggs to help spread joy to families who recently have experienced the death of a relative, according to project coordinator Karen Dancey.
On the night of Saturday, March 30, the students and volunteers set up displays of eggs in the lawns of five families—three in Macomb Township and one each in Armada and Washington Township.

Dancey said each family also received a card with the following words:
"May the resurrection of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, bring you peace and hope. These brightly colored eggs are to remind you of the colors of the rainbow and that God is faithful to keep his promises. As he promised in Jeremiah 31:13, "I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow." Thinking of you & praying with you, With love from Immanuel Lutheran School's 7th grade class.
