Police Release Video In Shooting Of Metro Detroit Businessman
Officials are still looking for the shooter.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MI — Police are looking for a man who shot and injured a well-known Macomb County businessman at his home earlier this week.
News reports identified the victim as 61-year-old Eddie Jawad, who was shot in his right leg and suffered cuts to his right arm from shattered glass. He was treated and released from the hospital, officials said.
The shooting happened at 10:18 a.m. Tuesday at Jawad's home in the area of 24 Mile Road and Wellington Valley Drive in Macomb Township, officials said.

Before the shooting, officials said video caught the shooter in the area of 24 Mile Road and Wellington Valley Drive at roughly 8:22 a.m. Tuesday. The man walked through a neighbor's yard and hid between two parked cars in Jawad's driveway, officials said.
He then emerged from the hiding spot roughly 30 minutes later and fired shots at an SUV Jawad was driving, officials said.

"Someone was lying in wait. You could see him between the two cars, coming out with a gun and shooting immediately," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido. "This was in front of the man’s house, where his family is, where his wife is. This is ridiculous."
Officials described the shooter as a thin man standing between five-foot six and five-foot eight inches. He fled the area in a black Ford Escape, model year 2020-2022. A stolen plate was affixed to the Escape at the time of the shooting, officials said.
