3. Parking, other tickets plunge in Michigan. Are speed traps vanishing? (themorningsun.com) — Drivers in Macomb County are part of a statewide trend seeing far fewer traffic and parking tickets than 20 years ago, even as crashes decline slightly. Courts across Michigan, including those in the tri-county area of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb, are processing dramatically fewer traffic cases, a shift officials link to fewer officers, COVID-era changes, and new parking technologies.

4. Liquor sales at Schoolcraft, Macomb and Wayne community colleges OK'd under new law (macombdaily.com) — Macomb Community College will soon be able to sell liquor at its Expo Center and John Lewis Student Community Center without applying for one-time permits, thanks to a new state law. The change is meant to simplify hosting major events on campus and aligns with similar permissions for Schoolcraft and Wayne County community colleges. Lawmakers also bundled in broader liquor-law tweaks and other statewide measures.
