Four railroad crossings in Macomb County targeted for improvements (macombdaily.com) — Drivers in Macomb County can expect smoother, safer railroad crossings after the state earmarked $300,000 and additional grant funding for upgrades in Fraser, Warren, Sterling Heights, and Chesterfield Township. MDOT’s 2026 program will repair or rebuild crossing surfaces, with schedules and detours to be posted later on the Macomb Work Zone.

2. More Than A Food Pantry (macombnowmagazine.com) — A Macomb County-based church pantry is quietly supporting thousands of struggling families across Mount Clemens, Clinton Township, Fraser, Harrison Township and parts of Sterling Heights with food, counseling and job help. Staffed by 40–45 volunteers and funded through ongoing donations and fundraising, the St. Paul of Tarsus Food Pantry emphasizes dignity, self-reliance and hope for neighbors facing sudden crises.
3. Macomb County partners with Richards Middle School to paint the plow (legalnews.com) — Macomb County’s Department of Roads is rolling out a newly student-designed “Think Sunny Thoughts” snowplow as crews gear up to keep winter roads clear. Richards Middle School art students created the winning design, and new tandem-axle trucks are being deployed to county service centers in Washington Township, New Haven, Clinton Township, and Shelby Township. Local schools can already sign up for next year’s Paint the Plow program.
4. Macomb Township man arraigned on charge of violating Michigan's Safe Gun Storage law (legalnews.com) — A Macomb Township man has been charged under Michigan’s new safe gun storage law after a minor in his home later died from a gunshot wound, with prosecutors alleging the firearm was left unsecured. He’s free on a personal recognizance bond, must surrender any weapons, and is due back in 41A District Court in Shelby Township later this month.
5. Pontiac man charged in Macomb County home invasion, related offenses (cbsnews.com) — Macomb County authorities have charged a Pontiac man after a violent home invasion in Shelby Township left a homeowner badly beaten and several items stolen. Shelby Township police say license plate camera technology helped track the suspect, who now faces multiple felony counts with high bond and upcoming court dates later this month and in early January.
