Portions of I-75 in Downtown Detroit Will Close Sunday Morning for Detroit Marathon

The following construction activities are scheduled for the weekend beginning Friday, Oct. 18, and ending Monday, Oct. 21. Some of this work may be postponed due to inclement weather or any unforeseen circumstances.

I-696:

In Oakland and Macomb Counties, eastbound I-696 from I-75 to Mound Road will have the right two lanes closed on Friday 9 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m. for pavement repairs.  In addition, the entrance ramps from 11 Mile Road and Dequindre Road to eastbound I-696 and the exit ramp from eastbound I-696 to northbound and southbound Mound Road will be closed during the same time frame.

In Oakland County, eastbound I-696 from US-24 (Telegraph Road) to Evergreen Road will have the left lane closed on Friday at 9 p.m. to Monday at 6 a.m. for construction.

I-75:

In Oakland County, southbound I-75 from Big Beaver Road to 12 Mile Road will have two lanes closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday for construction.

In Wayne County, the northbound I-75 ramp to the Ambassador Bridge will be closed on Sunday from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.for a marathon.  Motorists will be detoured to use northbound I-75 to northbound M-10 to northbound Rosa Parks Boulevard to southbound I-75 to the Ambassador Bridge.

In Wayne County, the northbound I-75 and eastbound I-96 ramp to southbound M-10 will be closed on Sunday at 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. for a marathon.  The suggested detour is to use northbound I-75 to Grand River Avenue for downtown access and for access to Jefferson Avenue use northbound I-75 to southbound I-375 to Jefferson.

I-94:

In Macomb County, westbound I-94 from Masonic Boulevard to 11 Mile Road there will be intermittent single lane closures on Saturday at 5 a.m. to Sunday at 8 p.m. for road reconstruction.

In Macomb County, eastbound I-94 from 11 Mile Road to Masonic Boulevard there will be intermittent single lane closures on Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m. for road reconstruction

In Wayne County, westbound I-94 near the M-39 interchange will have only a left lane open on Friday at 10 p.m. toMonday at 5 a.m. for concrete patching.

I-96:

In Oakland County, eastbound I-96 (Express Lanes) between Burt Road and Evergreen Road will have two left lanes closed on Saturday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. for work on the Glendale Avenue overpass.

In Oakland County, eastbound I-96 (Local Lanes) between Burt Road and Evergreen Road will have the left lane closed on Sunday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. for work on the Glendale Avenue overpass.

M-1 (Woodward Avenue):

In Oakland County, the northbound M-1 (Woodward Avenue) service drive at I-696 will be closed on Friday at 9 p.m. toSaturday at 7 a.m. for construction.

In Oakland County, northbound M-1 (Woodward Avenue) from Catalpa Road to I-696 will have only one lane open on Friday at 9 p.m. to Saturday at 7 a.m. for construction.

In Oakland County, the southbound M-1 (Woodward Avenue) service drive at I-696 will be closed on Saturday at 9 p.m.to Sunday at 7 a.m. for construction.

In Oakland County, southbound M-1 (Woodward Avenue) from Catalpa Road to I-696 will have only one lane open on Saturday at 9 p.m. to Sunday at 7 a.m. for construction.

M-10 (Lodge Freeway):

In Wayne County, southbound M-10 (Lodge Freeway) from Howard Street to Jefferson Avenue will be closed on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. for a marathon.  The suggested detour is to use the Bagley exit for downtown destinations. To access Jefferson, use southbound M-10 to northbound I-75 to southbound I-375 to Jefferson.

M-39 (Southfield Freeway):

In Wayne County, the northbound M-39 (Southfield Freeway) ramp to westbound I-94 will be closed on Friday at 10 p.m.to Monday at 5 a.m. for concrete patching.

M-59 (Highland Road):

In Oakland County, westbound M-59 (Highland Road) from west of Williams Lake Road to Pontiac Lake Road will have the right lane closed on Saturday at 12 a.m. to Sunday at 9 a.m. for maintenance.

M-85 (Fort Street):

In Wayne County, northbound and southbound M-85 (West Fort Street) from West Grand Boulevard to M-10 will be closed Sunday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a marathon.

In Wayne County, northbound and southbound M-85 (West Fort Street) between 6th Street and Washington Boulevard will be closed Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for a marathon.

In Wayne County, northbound and southbound M-85 (Fort Street) from Griswold Street to 5th Street the right lane will be closed on Saturday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. for a marathon.

In Wayne County, northbound and southbound M-85 (Fort Street) between I-75 and King Road the right lane will remain closed until Saturday at 7 p.m. for road work.

M-97 (Groesbeck Highway):

In Macomb County, northbound M-97 (Groesbeck Highway) from 11 Mile Road to 14 Mile Road will have two lanes closed on Saturday at 6 p.m. to Sunday at 10 a.m. for road reconstruction.

US-12 (Michigan Avenue):

In Wayne County, eastbound and westbound US-12 (Michigan Avenue) from Rosa Parks Boulevard to Campus Martius will be closed on Sunday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a marathon.

Beginning the week of Monday, October 21st:

I-96:
In Oakland County, westbound I-96 from Novi Road to the Livingston County Line will continue to have two lanes closed nightly Monday thru Friday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for road work.

M-1 (Woodward Avenue):

In Wayne County, northbound M-1 (Woodward Avenue) at Westminster Street, north of Chicago Boulevard the right lane will continue to be closed until Wednesday at 3 p.m. for road work.

M-10 (Northwestern Highway):
In Oakland County, northbound M-10 (Northwestern Highway) between 13 Mile Road and Middlebelt Road there will be lane shifts and cross-over closures daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Wednesday and continuing thru mid-November for maintenance.

M-10 (Lodge Freeway):

In Wayne County, southbound M-10 (Lodge Freeway) at Calvert Street will have the right lane closed on Monday at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Tuesday at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for bridge work.

M-39 (Southfield Freeway):

In Wayne County, the southbound M-39 (Southfield Freeway) ramp to Warren Avenue will be closed Tuesday at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving work on the service drive.

M-97 (Groesbeck Highway):

In Macomb County, the eastbound and westbound local roads east of northbound M-97 will be closed Sunday at 6 p.m.to Wednesday at 5 a.m. for road reconstruction.
