6 Mile Over I-275 Closed Until Thursday

The bridge was supposed to open on Monday, but will remain closed until Thursday.

NORTHVILLE, MI — The Michigan Department of Transportation said on Sunday the Six Mile bridge that crosses over I-275 will remain closed until Thursday.

  • Northbound I-275 traffic headed for westbound Six Mile Road will instead use northbound I-275 to westbound Seven Mile Road, then southbound I-275 to westbound Six Mile Road.
  • Southbound I-275 traffic headed for eastbound Six Mile Road will instead use southbound I-275 to eastbound Ann Arbor Road, then northbound I-275 to eastbound Six Mile Road.
  • Eastbound Six Mile Road will be detoured to northbound Haggerty Road, then eastbound Seven Mile Road to southbound Newburgh Road back to eastbound Six Mile Road.
  • Westbound Six Mile Road will be detoured to northbound Newburgh Road, then westbound Seven Mile Road to southbound Haggerty Road back to westbound Six Mile Road.

The bridge was originally supposed to open on Monday.

Once the six Mile bridge opens, the five Mile bridge that crosses over I-275 will close through the fall.
