3 laptops, engagement ring, watches reported missing after break-in while homeowners were out of town.

Northville Police responded March 17 to a home on the 200 block of South Center Street for a report of a possible breaking and entering, according to a police report.
A neighbor told police he discovered the back entrance to the home had the glass pane removed and the inner door was left open, the report indicated. He told police he noticed the damage when his dog had gone over to the neighbors’ door at 8 a.m. as it often does to visit the man and woman who live at the residence to earn a treat.
The man told police he thought his neighbors had returned from a trip to Chicago early and left the door open, perhaps so the dog could visit.
