Northville City Police Offer Tips Following Rash of Car Break-ins
Parking in well lit areas and locking doors are important steps to prevent break-ins.

Following last week, the city police department has issued tips for residents to stay safe.
"This crime is common and often occurs in residential areas (driveways, open garages, vehicles parked in the street, etc.)," according to an email alert from the city police department. "Usually these thefts involve vehicles that have been left unlocked."
Here are some additional tips from the police department:
• Park in well lit areas
• Don’t become complacent – be aware of your surroundings
• Lock your vehicle and bring your keys with you
• Do not leave valuables unattended in your vehicle
• Park in your garage and close the garage door
The department also advises reporting suspicious activity by calling dispatch at (248) 349-9400 or 911 in an emergency.
