Northville Residents Work to Restore Oakwood Cemetery

The Oakwood Cemetery, on Cady Street across from the Northville District Libary, is in disrepair and has become the focus of Northville residents like Tom Gudritz.

Gudritz wrote in his blog post on Patch that the Oakwood Cemetery dates back to the early 1800s. He said this would make Oakwood Cemetery one of the oldest cemeteries in the area and the first in Northville.  

He is part of a committee dedicated to restoring the cemetery and making it a historic gem. The committee consists of an archaeologist, an anthropologist, a preservationist, a member of the genealogical society and interested citizens, he wrote.
