Northville School Board Appoints Cyndy Jankowski to Interim Seat
Board president Dottie Garrity encourages other seven candidates to continue pursuing civic service.

Northville's school board appointed parent and community leader Cynthia Jankowski to a temporary seat Tuesday night.
Jankowski replaces longtime board member Joan Wadsworth, . Jankowski beat out William Bryan for the position. She will serve an 11-month term and will need to seek re-election in November to keep the seat longer.
"Welcome Cyndy, to the board," board president Dottie Garrity said. She also had words for the other candidates.

Earlier Tuesday night, the board conducted an hour-long final interview of . Several board members prepared questions to ask the candidates and had the opportunity to ask follow-up questions, unlike the previous interviews.

Jankowski and Bryan were asked questions ranging from their views on tenure as a factor in evaluating teachers to their approach to compromise, alluding to contract negotiations last year, to how they'd handle controversial votes.
During public comment, two people spoke for Jankowski and two spoke for Bryan.
