Man Arrested for Bow Hunting in Novi
The following information was provided by the Novi Police Department.

Two Novi police officers were dispatched to ITC Community Sports Park at 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 28 after someone reported that she saw a person dressed in camouflage and possibly holding a weapon above his car, according to a Novi police report.Â
When the officers arrived, they found the car and followed foot prints in the snow to find the man. The officers followed the prints through the park and through an open fence onto private property on the east side of the park. There the found the man perched on top of a tree on a hunting platform. He was dressed in camouflage clothing and holding a bow and arrow. Apples were also seen on the ground a few feet from the tree.
The officers asked him to step down and questioned him. The man said he was hunting deer, the report said. He said he lives in the Upper Peninsula and was in the area visiting his brother, who told him that he had received permission to bow hunt on property east of park, the report said.Â

The man said he thought bow hunting was legal in Novi and that he would not intentionally violate hunting laws, the report said.
The officers informed the man that bow hunting is illegal in Novi and arrested him on charges of possession of a dangerous weapon and a hunting violation, the report said.
