Novi Homecoming Parade Honors Real-Life Heroes

To kick off the homecoming celebrations Friday night, Novi High School celebrated its team and school at the traditional homecoming parade.

The theme for homecoming and the 2013-14 school year is "Superheroes." Real-life heroes — veterans, armed service members, Red Cross workers, etc. — were invited to walk in the parade. EMS and Fire Operations Director Jeff Johnson, one of the honored heroes, helped lead the parade.

The message Novi High School wants to send is: "You don't have to wear a cape to be a hero!"
