Novi Lands $40M World A123 HQ
The Novi headquarters will house corporate offices, an engineering center, new laboratory space and a manufacturing plant.

NOVI, MI — A Livonia-based battery maker will soon be moving to Novi. A123 Systems LLC plans to build a $40 million headquarters on a 32-acre site adjacent to the Fountain Walk shopping center.
The headquarters will house corporate offices, an engineering center, new laboratory space and a manufacturing plant, according to a WDIV Local 4 Television report. The campus will replace leased space in Livonia and Romulus.
The new A123 facility will house more than 400 employees, about 200 less than are currently employed at the Livonia and Romulus sites, WDIV reported. Those losing jobs are manufacturing contract workers.
