Novi Schools 'Leader in Me' Program Cultivates Student Leaders

"The Leader in Me" program aims to develop a culture of leadership in schools and is based on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People® by Stephen Covey.

The Novi Community School District started implementing "The Leader in Me" approach for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. The district plans to expand the model into high school. 

All elementary and middle school staff learned about the approach in the 2011-12 school year and trained again this summer to learn how to integrate the habits, like being proactive, into the classroom.
