Novi Sears Among Those Closing Down

NOVI — The Novi Sears is closing down in a string of closures the company announced Friday.

The Muskegon Sears is also set to close down.

In October the once iconic retailer filed for Chapter 11 Bankrupcty and started shutting stores down across the country in November, including the Battle Creek location.

“As part of Sears Holdings' processes to accelerate its strategic transformation and facilitate its financial restructuring, on December 27, 2018, the company informed associates at 80 stores that we will be closing these Sears and Kmart stores in late March 2019,” the company said in the announced.

You can expect liquidation sales at the affected stores.

The accompanying Sears Auto Center at these Sears stores will also be closing, Sears said. This is in addition to the previously announced closure of 40 unprofitable stores expected to be completed in February 2019.
