Person Steals Whoopie Sling Plus Other Equipment from Novi Business

Novi police provided this information.

Someone stole multiple pieces of industrial equipment from a Novi business between Aug. 22 and 26, according to a Novi police report.

An employee of Dan’s Tree Service, on Heslip Drive, said he parked his truck in the business’ front lot Aug. 22 at about 5 p.m., the report said. The tree service equipment was locked in storage bins in the truck, according to the report.

He returned to the vehicle about 7 a.m. Aug. 26 and discovered that the storage cabinet doors were ajar and the equipment was missing, the report said.

According to the report, the items taken include: five Stihl orange and white chain saws, two Stihl orange and white pruners, seven tree ropes, five pulleys, one whoopie sling for climbing, two pole pruners, three handsaws and one backpack blower.

The storage cabinet doors on the truck were pried open with a yellow tool, according to the report, based on the evidence of yellow paint that rubbed off on the cabinet doors and jambs.

There are no suspects at this time, the report said.
