Community events

• Thursday: Registration ends for at 5 p.m. 
• Thursday: The Novi Board of Education has a work session meeting at 7 p.m. in the Educational Services Building
• Saturday: The Novi City Council has a public early input budget session at 10 a.m. at Fire Station #4, located at 49375 10 Mile Rd.

City offices, library closed Monday

The Novi , , recycling center and will be closed Monday for New Year's. 

Students return to Novi schools

classes resume Tuesday, while resumes Wednesday.

Novi Community Schools weekly sports schedule

Wednesday

The girls JV and varsity cheer teams compete against South Lyon East and Livonia Stevenson at Stevenson High School at 6 p.m.

The boys wrestling team takes on John Glenn and Wayne Memorial at Wayne Memorial at 6 p.m. 

The boys 7th grade green and white basketball teams play at home at 4 p.m., and the 8th grade teams play at home at 5 p.m.

Friday

Boys hockey takes on Calumet at 7 p.m. at the Calumet Colosseum.

Boys freshmen basketball plays South Lyon East away at 4 p.m., followed by the JV team at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity team at 7 p.m.

The girls basketball teams play South Lyon East at home with the freshmen team playing at 5:30 p.m. in the Field House, the JV team playing at 5:30 p.m. in the performance gym and the varsity girls playing at 7 p.m. in the performance gym.

Saturday

The girls varsity and JV cheer teams compete in an invitational starting at 8 a.m. in the Novi performance gym.

Boys wrestling has a tournament at 9 a.m. at Southgate Anderson and at 9:30 a.m. at Brighton High School.

Boys swim & dive heads to West Bloomfield Lahser High School for an invitational at 10 a.m.

Boys varsity hockey takes on Hancock at the Houghton County Arena at 1 p.m.

Sunday

Boys hockey plays Marquette at Lakeview Arena at 1 p.m. 

Catholic Central High School weekly sports schedule

Tuesday

Freshmen basketball plays Detroit Loyola at home at 4:30 p.m., JV plays at 6 p.m. and varsity plays at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday

The JV Blue hockey team plays University of Detroit Jesuit away at 4:30 p.m. and varsity follows at 6:30 p.m.

The varsity Blue wrestling team competes away at Oxford at 5 p.m.

The varsity White wrestling team competes away against Divine Child at 5:30 p.m.

Thursday

The bowling team heads to Drakeshire Lanes in Farmington to take on Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard at 3:30 p.m.

Saturday

Both Blue and White varsity wrestling teams are competing in the CC Invitational at home starting at 9 a.m.

The bowling teams head to the Ladywood Tournament at 12:30 p.m. at the Super Bowl Lanes in Canton.

The swim team heads to Cranbrook for the Schack Invitational at 1 p.m.

The JV Blue hockey team faces Farm Fire at home at 5 p.m. while the JV White team takes on Lake Orion away at 8 p.m. Varsity hockey plays Trenton at home at 7 p.m.

Sunday

The JV White hockey team takes on Stoney Creek at 5 p.m. at Eddie Edgar Arena.
