5 Things to Know This Week

This week, Oakland Township looks forward to a trip to Hogwarts, better weather, one township meeting, a free concert and a game of vintage base ball.

1. Not as hot and mostly dry: High temperatures are forecast to stay in the 80s and upper 70s for the rest of the week, with a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms on Wednesday and party cloudy skies most of the week. Nighttime lows will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s.

4. Visit Hogwarts at the Rochester Hills Public Library: Come celebrate the release of the final Harry Potter movie by bringing your family to the Harry Potter Celebration at the from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday. Children can travel between classrooms at "Hogwarts" and participate in Harry Potter-inspired activities. Registration is required; you may register online or by calling 248-656-2900.

5. Enjoy a little music in the park: Bring a blanket, chairs and picnic dinner to this Thursday evening for the . The free concert series is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Rochester; this Thursday's guest will be the The George Brothers, who will play Motown and classic rock starting at 7:30 p.m. There will be pizza, popcorn, ice cream and drinks available for purchase during the concert.
