When you hear the tornado sirens going off at 1 p.m. today, don't worry – it's just a test.
This morning, the township sent out this message via its email and text alert system: "Today at 1 p.m. there will be a Tornado Siren Test in recognition of Severe Weather Awareness Week."
Typically, the sirens are tested on the first Saturday of the month, but this month's test was moved up to coincide with Severe Weather Awareness Week. The April 2nd test has been cancelled.
